Majorca Explorer (Special)
Steep cliffs, sparkling saltwater lakes, and stunning beaches and bays set the scene for the first two days of this unforgettable cycling holiday in Mallorca. One of the island’s most famous natural attractions, the Dragon Caves in Porto Cristo, offers a spectacular stop along the route. As you head north, the cultural highlight is the pearl town of Manacor, renowned for its craftsmanship, before returning to the coast at Can Picafort.
From here, the tour takes you into the heart of Mallorca, where the scenery is just as breathtaking as the coast. Quiet olive groves, fragrant orange orchards, and charming rural villages line this exceptional cycle route, providing plenty of opportunities to pause and soak in the local atmosphere. The final stretch brings you back to the vibrant Playa de Palma, where lively beaches and seaside cafés mark the perfect end to a diverse and remarkable cycling holiday.
£70 per person off all September and October dates!
Itinerary
Transfer by taxi from the airport to the starting hotel.
Welcome briefing. The tour takes you along the coastline to Capocorp Vell, the realm of the Cyclops (ruins of native inhabitants’ dwellings). Typical wind turbines line the way to the salt fields of Llevant, with their pink and white shimmering lakes. One of the most beautiful beaches in Mallorca is the white sandy beach “Es Trenc”. In Colònia Sant Jordi, you can enjoy even more beaches with crystal-clear water.
Cycle via Ses Salines to a botanical garden. Visit the picturesque bay near Cala Santanyí. Then continue through small fishing villages to the famous natural bridge “Es Pontàs”. Near Porto Cristo, you will find the Dragon Caves, known for their bizarre shapes and wall formations. We recommend a guided visit.
Cycle via the quiet village of Son Carrió to Manacor. Here, you will find factories producing the famous artificial pearls called “Majorica”. Countless small shops offer souvenirs and handmade ceramic everyday items. Continue via Petra and Santa Margalida through one of the island’s most enchanting landscapes to Can Picafort. Today, you return to the sandy beaches along the coast.
You’ll begin the day by the coast, cycling through the peaceful village of Son Carrió on your way to Manacor. This vibrant town is renowned for its Majorica pearls, displayed in shops alongside local ceramics and traditional souvenirs. From there, continue on through Petra, where a typical Majorcan lunchtime snack awaits, before heading to Santa Margalida. The route leads you through some of the island’s most captivating scenery before arriving in C’an Picafort, where you can relax by the sea as the day draws to a close.
Today’s tour takes you around Puig de Inca, approximately 300 metres high. You cycle through orange plantations and olive groves to countless Mallorca villages. Typical stone walls and village squares provide perfect spots for a break. We highly recommend stopping in the wine-growing village of Binissalem, where some of Mallorca’s most famous wines are produced and can be sampled in various bodegas.
A day of contrasts. Your tour begins in the rural hinterland and leads through sleepy villages. As soon as you reach the coast, however, the island becomes lively and vibrant along Playa de Palma. A wide variety of restaurants and leisure activities provide an entertaining final day of your holiday.
