Northern Germany Breweries
Discover a hidden side to northern Germany as you cycle this round trip of the region, visiting these breweries of the North Sea. You might not associate the North with beer gardens and hops, but the North Sea and good beer go hand in hand, and there are some very good beers to be had along the way. This is a trip not to be missed by beer enthusiasts.
The famous Jever brewery is in this region as well as the “Ostfriesen Bräu” and the “Tide Bier”. Cycle through the wonderful flat landscape, enjoying the fresh air and beer tasting on this fun trip.
Itinerary
You’ll arrive in Oldenburg, where you’ll have time to enjoy a walk through this pleasant city, where you’ll spend your first night.
Today you’ll set off from Oldenburg and cycle through the beautiful countryside of Ammerland to the Zwischenahner Sea before reaching East Frisia. Your first brewery is the “Ostfriesen Bräu” in Bagband, where you’ll enjoy a guided tour through the East Frisian beer culture and have before your overnight stay in Großefehn.
From the “old chief” town of Aurich, the route leads you to Esens and on to Carolinensiel. You’ll spend the night here or in the close surroundings.
Today’s destination is Jever and the route there leads you along the coast of the North Sea to “Harlesiel”, “Hooksiel” and “Horumersiel. You’ll find your overnight accommodation in Jever.
Your tour continues with a relaxing day spent visiting some of the sights of the area. Before reaching Dangast, where you’ll spend the night, cycle to the castle Gödens. Continue further along to Varel, where you can visit the “Vareler Brauhaus” for a relaxing dinner (with 1 beer included).
Your final stage sees you return to Oldenburg, where you’ll spend your final evening, but before you reach there, take your last bike ride from Jaderberg over Rastede.

The route for the North German Breweries Tour is over completely flat terrain. You’ll travel along predominantly paved or plastered country lanes and down some minor roads on this easy and relaxed tour.

Rental Bike PLUS is designed for a slightly sportier sitting position and finely tuned Shimano Deore XT gears offer excellent riding flexibility. The Velo de Ville aluminium frame has a high-quality Suntour suspension fork, Shimano disc brakes and 28″ puncture-proof tyres.

Unisex Electric Bike
The Velo de Ville electric bikes available on this tour assist up to 25 km/h whilst pedalling. The Bosch pedalec motor is in the bottom bracket of the frame and the detachable batteries last for approximately 120 km. Each bike has an illuminated LCD and 8-speed Shimano Nexus internal hub gears. They weigh 23 kg and have a freewheel brake. Only limited numbers are available.
