Itinerary

After making your own way to Nantes, you will have a welcome meeting between 9 and 19:00.

Your first day of cycling commences here, set off next to the Loire Valley. You will cross the river and your first stop of the day will be the old neighbourhood of Trentemoult, there you will find a maze of streets filled with beautiful, coloured houses, unusual for this area. From here you will peddle along the Loire River until reaching Paimbœuf through the Canal de la Martinière. Gliding along flat roads you will reach the ocean and your destination of Saint-Brevin-Les-Pins which its beautiful beaches.

On this day your route will end up on the Atlantic coast, here there is also the option to ride to Pointe Saint-Gildas. Your stop for the night is Bouin, this rural town has a pleasant museum to visit and plenty of natural scenes for you to visit.

Today’s route sits between marshes and the ocean, passing by oyster beds and crossing some quaint ports. Here you can also have a rare opportunity to discover oyster crafts and even try some! In the afternoon once you arrive to your destination of Noirmoutier there is an opportunity to discover the beaches and the centre of the island.

Time to head on south and continue the journey, passing by exceedingly good seaside resorts perfect for a dip. More idyllic beaches can be reached by bike.

Your route to Sables d’Olonne will be done along the Vendée beaches, on ways through green pines. Saint-Gilles-Croix-De-Vie has a beautiful promenade with local restaurants to eat in, a beautiful port with sleepy yachts and a stone lighthouse.

Today’s landscape is characterised by beaches and rocky coves as you peddle on a nice bike lane to the Guittière port, home to many delicious oysters that you can eat. Your destination for the night is La-Tranche-sur-Mer which you get to via the Longeville forest.

Marin Poitevin is a marsh land in here you will cycle around nature reserve l’Anse de l’Aiguillon, famous due to storm Xynthia which hit in famous 2009. Once you get to the Brault bridge you will begin following the Canal Maritime of the Sevre Nioraise river which you will follow to Marans. Along the “Marans La Rochelle” canal you will reach La Rochelle after just a few kilometres. La Rochelle is a fantastic city worth spending time in.

Before leaving there is an additional loop that you can opt to do to I’lle de Ré, an island with 120km of cycling lanes and amazing landscapes to invite you in.
