Majorca Highlights
As you stand on cliffs overlooking serene bays, the island’s allure goes far beyond its famed nightlife. Majorca has a softer side, too. In the tranquil hills of the island’s interior, where the gentle turning of mill wheels and the soothing chirps of cicadas fill the air, you’ll discover a quieter, more intimate side of the island.
This cycling holiday offers a journey through Majorca’s diverse landscapes, with exhilarating climbs and descents that mirror the island’s 2,000-year history of ups and downs. Both the coastal and inland regions possess unique charms that you’ll have the pleasure of exploring. The Dragon Caves of Porto Cristo showcase nature’s bizarre yet breathtaking creativity, while picturesque fishing villages and shimmering salt lakes rekindle a sense of romance. And with plenty of opportunities for swimming and sunbathing—no need to reserve a beach chair in advance—you’ll fully embrace the island’s relaxed, sun-kissed lifestyle.
Known as “La Luminosa” or “The Enlightened One,” Majorca is revered by Spaniards for her radiant beauty. On this cycling tour, you’ll get to know Majorca intimately, from its dramatic coastal cliffs to its peaceful inland valleys, making it a truly unforgettable experience.
2027 launch offer: £50 per person off all 2027 departure dates!
Itinerary
From the airport by taxi or bus to the first hotel in or near Playa de Palma.
Welcome briefing. The tour takes you closely along the coastline to Capocorp Vell, the realm of the Cyclops (ruins of native inhabitants’ dwellings).
Typical wind turbines line the way to the saline fields of Llevant with its pink and white shimmering salt lakes. One of the most beautiful beaches in Mallorca, Majorca is the white sandy beach, Es Trenc. In Sant Jordi, you can enjoy even more beaches with crystal clear water.
Via Ses Salines to a botanical garden. Visit the picturesque bay near Cala Santanyí. Then cycle through little fishing villages to the famous natural bridge ‚Es Pontas.
Near Porto Cristo, you find the dragon caves with bizarre shapes and wall paintings. We recommend a visit with a guided tour! Usually, our hotel is located directly at the harbour.
Begin your journey in the charming island villages of Son Carrió and Sant Llorenç, home to the 13th-century church of Santa Maria del Bellver, before continuing through the picturesque Mallorcan countryside.
Well-maintained paths lead you to Artà, where numerous narrow alleyways wind their way up the hill on which the town was built. From the pilgrimage church of Sant Salvador, enjoy spectacular panoramic views across the surrounding coastline, rolling countryside, almond plantations and olive groves.
The return journey follows a former railway line to Son Servera and onwards towards the coast.
Start your day on the coast, cycling through the peaceful village of Son Carrió before continuing to Manacor. This lively town is famous for its Majorica pearls, with shops offering a selection of local ceramics and traditional souvenirs.
From Manacor, ride on to Petra, where you can enjoy a typical Mallorcan snack for lunch, before continuing towards Santa Margalida. Along the way, the route takes you through some of the island’s most captivating landscapes.
Your final destination is C’an Picafort, where you can relax by the sea and enjoy a peaceful end to the day.
Today you will cycle inland through Muro and Inca to the mountain’s cape of the Sierra de Tramuntana. A bus will take you to the Lluc monastery (possibility for sightseeing) and later to 1,200 m above sea level.
Afterwards, you will continue your trip through Fornalutx (the most beautiful village in Spain), and partly through orange and lemon plantations to Port de Sóller, one of the most charming fishing villages on the island. Usually, you will get the chance to enjoy an excellent paella meal in Fornalutx (inclusive).
Breath-taking views of the sea will accompany you on the last cycling day. You will cycle through the picturesque towns of Deia and Valldemossa until you get to the West coast of the island, leading you to the city of Palma. The capital city, with its narrow alleys and squares, is a must to explore before you head back to where you started your tour.
Departure from Playa de Palma or spend extra nights in the city or the surrounding region.
