Be sure to also visit the ornate Alcazar, where Queen Isabel sent Christopher Columbus on his exploration of the Americas.

Your first day of cycling takes you along small country roads through pretty countryside to the charming village of Collado Hermoso. Take the opportunity to stop for a meal along the way at one of the many excellent restaurants at Torrecaballeros before visiting the fabulous fountains and gardens at the famous Royal Palace of San Ildefonso.

You’ll spend today cycling to Turegano and back. This historic town is renowned for its medieval, Moorish castle which towers over the village, incorporating an earlier Romanesque church within its construction. Spend some time in the plaza and enjoy an aperitif or a delicious traditional meal before returning to Collado Hermoso for a second night.

Your tour continues with a ride through small villages and wooded landscapes to the beautifully preserved medieval town of Pedraza and its imposing castle. Take time to discover the hidden treasures that Sepulveda shelters around every corner of its narrow winding cobbled streets filled with historic noble houses. As you explore, you’ll marvel at this medieval jewel.
