Itinerary
The starting point of your tour is the enthralling town of Olot. Located amongst the volcanoes, it is hidden amongst dense woodland and is the capital of the Garrotxa Natural Park. Spend some time visiting one of the town’s fascinating museums or enjoy a guided tour of the modernist quarter, which showcases its rich artistic influences.
Your first day of cycling sees a round trip to Olot, allowing you to spend time exploring this beautiful area in the foothills of the Pyrenees. The many extinct volcanoes around Olot are now camouflaged by woodland, but the conical shape of the hills and the flat tops of the edge of the craters give them away. Be sure to visit the crater of Santa Margarida, where you’ll find a curious chapel hidden in the centre
Today you will depart from Olot cycling through several typical towns and lush landscapes to Amer along the “Carrilet” rail trail. Cool down in the afternoon with a dip in the “Gorga Margarida” waterfall, which is only a short walk away and well worth the trip!
Continue your journey along the “Carrilet” from La Celera de Ter to the Capital of the Province: Girona. This fabulous city, which basks in colour and sunshine, will captivate you with its vibrant atmosphere. Lose yourself in the old quarter and enjoy the surprise of the colourful hanging houses along the river Onyar.
The white sands and crystal-clear waters of Sant Feliu’s beaches await you at the end of today’s route. But before you reach the stunning Costa Brava of Girona, take the opportunity to stop at several interesting towns along the “Carrilet”.
The penultimate day of your journey sees a round trip to the pretty seaside town of Sant Feliu, providing you with several great options; explore your surroundings further, spend time relaxing on the spectacular beaches or indulge in a refreshing dip in the sparkling Mediterranean.
