Itinerary

At your hotel, you’ll receive a thorough briefing on your tour and bikes. Afterward, why not unwind with a stroll through the serene spa park or take a ride on the historic rack railway to Montecatini Alto for breathtaking views?

Your cycling adventure begins in the expansive plains of the Valdinievole Valley, a agricultural region. Pedal through charming Tuscan villages and scenic olive groves on your way to Vinci, the birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci. A visit to the museum in the historic castle is highly recommended, as it houses one of the most extensive and unique collections of the inventor’s machines and models. After immersing yourself in history and innovation, enjoy a leisurely ride along quiet country roads back to Montecatini Terme, soaking in the beauty of Tuscany’s rolling landscapes.

As you cycle towards Lucca, you’ll pass through the charming medieval wine town of Monte Carlo, home to one of Tuscany’s rare white wines. Alternatively, you can take a train to Lucca for a more relaxed journey. A ride along the city’s historic walls offers breathtaking views of the skyline, dotted with church spires and medieval towers. Your journey then continues to the picturesque Lake Massaciuccoli—also known as the Lake of Giacomo Puccini—where you’ll enjoy stunning vistas of the sea. Finally, marvel at Pisa’s iconic Piazza dei Miracoli, home to the world-famous Leaning Tower.

Your journey begins along the scenic banks of the River Arno, where lush, fertile fields stretch out beside you. As you cycle through the rolling Pisan hills, you’ll pass vineyards producing sweet wines, olive groves, and orchards bursting with juicy peaches. Perched atop the hills, charming medieval villages offer picture-perfect views of the Tuscan countryside. Before long, you’ll arrive at your destination—Casciana Terme, a historic spa town known for its thermal waters and relaxing atmosphere. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a day of cycling through Tuscany’s breathtaking landscapes.

Today’s ride takes you along scenic trails through vineyards and rolling Tuscan hills, leading you to the stunning town of San Gimignano. Along the way, you’ll pass landscapes that perfectly capture the essence of Tuscany—picturesque views that have inspired countless paintings. As you approach your destination, the iconic medieval towers of San Gimignano will come into view, rising dramatically above the town. Once symbols of aristocratic power, these towers still define the skyline today, offering a glimpse into the region’s rich history. Enjoy exploring this beautifully preserved town, a true highlight of your cycling holiday in Tuscany.

Today’s stage showcases the stunning Tuscan landscape, making the gentle climbs along the route feel effortless. As you approach the charming, fortified village of Monteriggioni, you’ll be transported back to the Middle Ages, with its well-preserved walls and towers offering a glimpse of history. The real highlight of the day, however, is the architectural treasure of Siena. With its medieval charm and stunning landmarks, such as the Piazza del Campo and the Siena Cathedral, Siena will captivate you with its beauty and rich heritage, providing the perfect end to an unforgettable day of cycling through Tuscany.

Today’s tour immerses you in the heart of the renowned Chianti region, famous for its world-class “Chianti Classico” wine, cherished by wine enthusiasts worldwide. As you cycle through this picturesque landscape, you’ll pass the charming wine village of Castellina en route to Greve, often referred to as the capital of Chianti due to its esteemed wine and olive production. After enjoying the sights and flavours of this iconic region, you’ll take a public bus back to Florence, with your bike drop-off in Greve, marking the perfect conclusion to your cycling adventure through Tuscany.
