Itinerary

After making your own way to the Czech capital, embark to your boat at 4pm and spend the rest of the day walking around the beautiful city. We highly recommend doing this at night where the city of lit up.

Pick up your bike and then start your cycling. You will head along the Vltava River and go past Troja, where there is Baroque castle and national art gallery. From here you will head to the village of Klecánky and over the tread pf the Vltava past Drasty and Dodochogy, until you head back to the riverbank and to today’s destination of Kralupy.

Have breakfast and then head out around 9am on your bike. Your route will be mostly along the Vltava River, your first port of call being the Nelahozeyes, which is one of the most well-known Renaissance castles of Bohemia, aka the “little Louvre of the Czech Republic”. As you carry on, go through the Veltrusy Park, here you can see many sculptures and gazebos all the way to the town of Mělník. During the afternoon enjoy a boat trip on the river Elbe out to Litoměřice.

Today is a day full of fun! Litoměřice is one of the most beautiful Czech towns where you can find colourful Renaissance and Baroque buildings in the centre, and further out an old fort. We highly recommend visiting the Baroque Cathedral of St Stephen at the top of dome hill as well the bishop’s residence. Close by is also the Terezín concentration camp memorial camp. If you are feeling particularly confident on the bike, we recommend a scenic bike tour to castle Střekov which has a lovely café and is located right in the valley of the Elbe River. You will also head through the small town of Velké Žernoseky, located in the famous Czech wine-growing region. Your view on the way back to Litoměřice will include castles and amazing views of the river Elbe.

Today will entail an early start as we set off by bite to Roudnice. From here set off cycling at around 9am, which will be mostly along the river Elbe, passing Dobřín, Račice and Vliněves and then back again to the charming village of Mělník.

Today will be the last day of touring on your bike! Go past the exciting cities of Nelahozeves, Kralupy, Vodochody, Drasty and Klecánky. Back in Prague you will have plenty of time, enjoy time in the Czech capital.

As today starts and ends in the same place, it allows you to explore the Vltava River on the right bank, as well as the Old Town, New Town, and Jewish Quarter. You can also potter along the historical streets, stopping in the numerous cafes and enjoying the views of the Old Town square. If you do feel like cycling, there is the opportunity to travel along the Vtlava Rver to Zbraslav and back, while on route we also recommend a trip to Vyṧehrad Castle, it is estimated to have been built in the 10th century and sits on a hill looking over the famous river. Legend has it that this was the settlement that later became Prague.

Enjoy a last breakfast, disembark from the boat at 10am and then make your own way home.
