Itinerary

Upon landing at Tirana Airport, your cycling adventure begins with a warm welcome from our driver, who will be waiting with a sign displaying our logo or your name. A short 30-minute transfer takes you to your comfortable three-star hotel in the heart of Tirana.

Spend the day settling in and exploring this dynamic city at your own pace, or join a donation-based walking tour to get your bearings. Wander through the bustling New Bazaar, uncover the stories of Albania’s communist past, or soak up the lively atmosphere around Skanderbeg Square. In the evening, relax with a well-earned cocktail in the fashionable Blloku district, ready to embark on the first leg of your cycling holiday tomorrow.

The day begins with a transfer from Tirana to Korça, following the scenic Shkumbin River and passing by the shimmering shores of Lake Ohrid, one of Europe’s deepest and most beautiful lakes. From Korça, your cycling journey unfolds through Albania’s tranquil rural landscapes, with the majestic Gramoz Mountains providing a stunning backdrop. Pedal along quiet country roads and through remote villages nestled close to the green border with Greece, where time seems to stand still.

Today’s ride leads you to Erseka, the highest town in Albania, before continuing to the charming village of Rehovë. With its cobbled streets, historic churches, and traditional stone houses, Rehovë offers a warm welcome and a peaceful setting to end an unforgettable day in the saddle.

Begin your day with a hearty breakfast before setting off from Rehovë and cycling into the mountains towards the stunning Germenj–Shelegur National Park. The route offers a rewarding mix of climbs and sweeping views, with plenty of opportunities to pause and take in the scenery. Along the way, stop at the Borova War Memorial to reflect on Albania’s World War II history and the resilience of its people.

Continue your ride over the picturesque Barmash Pass, where panoramic mountain vistas make every pedal stroke worthwhile. Your journey ends in a peaceful setting surrounded by unspoilt nature – the perfect place to unwind after a day of adventure on your cycling holiday.

Today’s ride takes you towards Leskovik, with a delightful descent through rolling hills and valleys leading to the crystal-clear waters of the Vjosa River – often celebrated as the last wild river in Europe. Pause to enjoy the serene landscape before continuing to the natural hot springs of Benjë, where you can relax with a soothing dip surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery. After your ride, a comfortable transfer brings you to the UNESCO-listed city of Gjirokastër.

Settle into your accommodation in the heart of the old town, then wander its cobbled streets and admire the beautifully preserved Ottoman architecture. In the evening, enjoy dinner at one of the charming local restaurants and let the unique atmosphere of this historic city complete another memorable day of your cycling holiday.

After the morning transfer, you’ll set off on a spectacular descent towards the sparkling Ionian coast. Your route first takes you to the famous “Blue Eye” (Syri i Kaltër) – a mesmerising karst spring whose vivid turquoise waters make it a must-see stop. From there, enjoy a long, exhilarating downhill ride as you follow the tranquil Bistrica River through lush countryside. Continue towards the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Butrint, passing by the serene Lake Butrint and fragrant citrus groves along the way. A short crossing on a rustic cable ferry takes you across the narrow channel to explore Butrint’s remarkable archaeological ruins, steeped in centuries of history.

Afterwards, cycle to the coastal village of Ksamil, where you can savour a delicious seafood lunch and take a refreshing swim around its idyllic islands. The final 17 kilometres of the day lead you along a scenic coastal route, ending in the vibrant seaside town of Sarandë—the perfect place to relax and reflect on another unforgettable stage of your Albanian cycling holiday.

Today’s ride to Himarë begins by leaving the coastline behind as you climb through the peaceful villages of Nivica and Shen Vasil, surrounded by traditional stone houses and mountain views. After a steady ascent, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramas of the Ionian Sea and the dramatic coastal mountains for much of the remaining journey. The route winds through charming villages framed by citrus groves and olive plantations, tracing the scenic road from the lively port city of Sarandë to the historic Porto Palermo, home to submarine bunkers and the impressive Ali Pasha Castle.

Upon arriving in the laid-back seaside town of Himarë, take some time to unwind on its peaceful pebble beach or enjoy a swim in the clear blue waters. As evening falls, dine at one of the inviting promenade restaurants, where you can savour freshly caught seafood while watching the sunset over the Ionian coast—a perfect end to another memorable day on your cycling holiday.

After several days of exhilarating cycling, enjoy a well-earned day of relaxation on the stunning Albanian coast. Following breakfast, spend the morning unwinding on the sun-drenched beaches of Himarë, swimming in the crystal-clear waters or simply soaking up the scenery. In the afternoon, a comfortable transfer will take you back to Tirana, bringing your unforgettable Albanian cycling adventure to a close.
