In early September 2025, we sent Karl Pickles from the ‘Bike Trekking with Karl‘ YouTube channel to experience a cycling holiday along the Danube Cycle Path. Karl rode from Grein in the Wachau Valley to Vienna on an electric bike and was impressed the full service approach to cycle touring that we are so keen to promote.
In collaboration with our local partners in Austria, we arranged a five-day cycling tour for Karl to experience how our cycling holidays operate. This included access to the luggage transfer service and a top-spec electric bike. He also had full access to the digital mapping system and travelled with Lufthansa from Manchester to Munich, continuing by train to Grein via Linz. We did pay for the video to be produced, however I told Karl to just ‘show customers what they will see, do and experience’ upon arrival.
