Cycling Holidays With A Difference!

Why go on a cycling holiday ? Funny question perhaps for a cycling holiday website to pose, but I think we can share a few possible answers with you.

If you’ve done the beach and villa thing, and can’t think of something new, you might be ready for something a little different. How about the sense of freedom and achievement which comes from really discovering a chosen area, and from spending time with friends and family in a shared activity?

Fresh air and exercise are simple things, but many of us struggle to find time to enjoy them. A cycling holiday pulls together a lot of interesting possibilities – why not give it a try?

The basic formula is this: we provide the bikes and the hotel accommodation, and we move your luggage when you move between hotels. You have comprehensive route notes and maps, and the support of a tour host or a local rep who can deal with any problems you may have. You can choose tours where you cycle every day or tours with ‘rest days’ when you can enjoy other activities.

Our tours are graded 1, 2 and 3 so you can select an easy tour or something more challenging. Don’t see your holiday as an endurance test. Tailor things to your requirements and you’ll have a great time!

We try to use small, family-run hotels where possible. In Austria some of the hotels we use have been run by the same family for generations.

Many of our clients return several times. What’s new for them and for everyone else in 2010?

• Bike & Boat tours
Following the great success of our Venice to Mantova tour in 2009, we have expanded the concept with new tours in Holland, Belgium and France. See Paris, Amsterdam, Bruges, and Venice from a top quality canal boat. Unpack just the once and enjoy full board accommodation – great value!

• New countries
Ireland, the Czech Republic, and Holland are brand new destinations for us, and they offer great new variety.

• France – major expansion
As well as our established Loire Valley tour we have new offerings in Normandy, the Dordogne and Provence. The D-Day landing beaches of Normandy, and the well-known scenic delights of the Dordogne and Provence provide great new points of interest.

• Freewheel Afloat
Boating holidays on France’s finest canals, including the famous Canal du Midi in the deep south. Rent a bike, keep it on board, and enjoy cycling in two wonderful regions as well as piloting your boat along the canals.

We pride ourselves on the quality and value of our holidays. Why not give us a try in 2010. Like so many others, you’ll discover the ‘Freewheel difference’ and want to come back for more.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
